Everton have fielded an offer from Besiktas to take striker Cenk Tosun back on loan until the end of the season, according to Takvim

The Turkish outlet claim that Black Eagles president Fikret Orman has flown to London for a meeting with Everton officials regarding the 27-year-old striker.

Takvim report that Tosun himself is keen on a return to his former club, who are in the Europa League this season, but the decision depends on whether Everton boss Marco Silva wants him to stick around.

Good move for Everton?

Not particularly.

Tosun is admittedly struggling quite badly this season, with the Turkey international having scored just two goals and registered two assists in 12 games so far this term.

That being said, the 27-year-old has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks, and to let him go now would be totally counterintuitive from the Toffees.

Tosun is a quality goalscorer with a brilliant career record, and should he eventually come good at Goodison Park then he will be a real threat for Silva and his team.

Likely to happen?

You would think not.

Despite his struggles, Tosun is still a player who has received regular first-team football under Silva this season, and that shows that the manager has faith in his abilities.

Furthermore, if Tosun was allowed to leave the club that would mean Everton would have to bring in a replacement, and that would complicate their January plans.

All in all it is a move which does not seem to make any sense at all for the club and they are therefore unlikely to sanction it.
