Everton are reportedly one of a number of clubs in the race to sign Nantes forward Emiliano Sala – and Goodison Park will roar if Marco Silva is able to win the Argentine’s signature in the January transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton, Wolves, West Ham and Fulham are also interested in signing the 28-year-old goal machine, who has been in prolific form in Ligue 1 this season.

It is understood that Nantes want a staggering £25million for the in-form striker, who has scored 12 goals in 13 appearances across all competitions this term as he tears up the French top-flight with the Canaries.

The report adds that Everton are looking at a number of options to bolster their strike force in the near future, but they should not stray away from looking at Sala who could be a serious addition to Silva’s arsenal in the January window.

The Toffees have struggled for an out-and-out forward since Romelu Lukaku’s departure for Manchester United last year, with Oumar Niasse, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Sandro Ramirez and Cenk Tosun failing to score on a regular basis since the Belgian left.

Richarlison has recently been shoved up front as the Brazilian is the one who has shown the most cutting edge in front of goal this season, but it is clear that the ex-Watford man cannot be used in that position all season long as he is more suited to playing out wide.

Sala is someone who could spearhead the Toffees attack for the next few years and it makes sense to sign someone up who is in dazzling form at the moment.

The Argentine has netted seven goals in his last four Ligue 1 outings. He has also put Monaco, Nice and Montpellier to the sword with goals against them in the early stages of this season.

Everton really need Sala’s talent in front of goal and Silva simply must go all in for the Nantes striker in January, otherwise his side is bound to slip away from a potential spot in next season’s Europa League.
