Richarlison’s performance for Everton in their 3-1 win over Brighton on Saturday afternoon had the jaw of Sky Sports pundit Darren Bent on the floor as he delivers his verdict for the team of the week.

The Brazilian talent, who arrived at Goodison Park from Watford in the summer, netted twice to see the Toffees to victory, Seamus Coleman netting the other for the home side while Lewis Dunk scored for the visitors.

Delivering the XI which impressed him most in the weekend’s fixtures, Bent was in awe with Richarlison for what he described as another incredible performance.

Writing for Sky Sports, he said: “Richarlison again was out of this world, and gets them important goals.”

Opinion

Richarlison might have been a big money signing in summer – with many questioning why they had splashed out so much for a man who struggled in the second half of last season – but he is repaying the faith shown to him by former Watford boss Marco Silva, who appears to be the key to unlocking the Brazilian’s talents. The attacking maestro has stolen the limelight on a couple of occasions this season and Saturday was another match to add to the highlights reel, with a sublime performance to put the Seagulls to the sword. This was him at his very best and the Goodison Park faithful will be hoping he can keep up these sort of displays heading into the winter period, when it can so easily be make or break for the rest of the campaign. Richarlison will not be the only one who brings the club success by performing at the top of his game, but a failure to hit the expected heights from the forward could result in disappointment for the Toffees.
