Leeds attacker Pawel Cibicki is on his way back to Elland Road immediately after the Norwegian season came to an end.

Molde manager and former Man United player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed in FotbollSkanelen that the player had gone back to Leeds early for a ‘new opportunity’ at Elland Road.

Cibicki scored three goals and added three assists in 13 games at Molde.

Solskjaer said, “He did not play today [last Saturday] and he will get a new opportunity in Leeds. Those are his employers and they are an exciting club at the moment. Therefore he got the chance to travel back a little earlier.”

OPINION

Leeds haven’t made much of Cibicki’s impending return and word is that they don’t think he has a big future at Elland Road but the fact is that he’s a player who can offer depth to the squad and possibly much more. Molde finished second in the Eliteseria and Cibicki played his part with goals and assists, scoring twice in the last three games. We thought he had enough about him last season and we hope that Bielsa gives him a fair shot when he comes back. If he can transform him like he’s transformed so many of the other Leeds players this season, he could be a revelation. He signed for £1.5million last summer and he could be like another new signing for Leeds if Bielsa sees anything he likes. He’s only 24 years old and he’s completely match fit and ready to go. Leeds don’t have the luxury of a huge squad and Cibicki could be a real bonus for December and the gruelling winter months in the Championship. This could be one to watch.
