beat RB Leipzig 2-1 tonight and it was a brilliant, breathtaking display from Brendan Rodgers’ men.

They showed quality, character, bravery and it was actually hard to single any one player out.

BT pundit Chris Sutton thought the same thing tonight, posting a message saying it was “Celtic at their very best. Performance of the season.”

He did pick out one Celtic player from the warriors tonight though, saying that “King Edouard came of age, very special”.

This game really had it all and not just on the pitch. The Celtic fans were incredible too and the game had that big-time feel to it. Leipzig were a solid side and really pushed Celtic to the limits tonight, but Brendan Rodgers’ men held on and more. When they conceded the equaliser they didn’t crumple, but went straight up the other end and scored while Leipzig were still mentally celebrating their equaliser. There were a number of Celtic players that had a case for Man of the Match, but showed why Celtic were prepared to pay big money for him in the summer. He was a real threat all night, was unlucky not to get another and will start having big clubs sniffing around him if he can carry on putting in this level of performance on the biggest stages. As Sutton said, he seemed to come of age tonight, to thrive on the atmosphere and the occasion. What a night to be a Celtic fan. Their fans will be partying long into the night tonight. Three points was a big ask but it was a must and Celtic have got a great chance of qualifying for the final 32 of the Europa League now.
