It’s not easy getting promoted out of the Championship – it’s a long gruelling league that contains plenty of former giants looking for their way back to the good times of the Premier League.

And to win one of the two automatic promotion spots you have to win dirty, which is just what West Brom managed to do last night.

They fell behind to an early goal from Swansea’s Oli McBurnie after some questionable goalkeeping from Sam Johnstone but then hit back with two goals in the first-half to seal the points and move up to fourth.

West Brom have got some of the best attacking talent in the Championship but it was two goals from set pieces scored by their two central defenders that did for Swansea, who can consider themselves unlucky last night.

Craig Dawson got the first and Ahmed Hegazi the winner, and it was the latter who seriously impressed the Baggies fans last night.

The 27-year-old Egypt international was the man of the match and he did more to win the three points than any other player – both with his goal and his defending at the back.
