Aston Villa would completely stun their Championship rivals if they signed Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones in the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail have reported that Swansea City are eyeing up a move for the 24-year-old in January, but it also said that Aston Villa are monitoring his situation in Scotland.

Jones is a player in demand, especially after the packed race for him in the last transfer window, which included the likes of Hull City and Sheffield United, according to Team Talk.

However, Villa must be the ones to win the race for this top-flight dazzler, as his potential arrival could cause Villa Park to erupt.

Jones is free to talk to clubs regarding a move in the New Year due to his current contract at Kilmarnock expiring in the summer, something which boss Dean Smith needs to take advantage of as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

If Villa are not willing to spend money on Jones in January, then there is always the option of loaning him until the summer, where he will then be available on a free transfer.

Villa would be instantly improved by capturing Jones, as he provides a fabulous attacking threat due to the creative vision he possesses and the ability to cross the ball effectively.

This makes for a very exciting prospect to watch – especially as he showcased more of his ability when he netted four goals for Kilmarnock last season as well as creating a further ten.

The Championship is no doubt a very different to the Scottish Premier League, but it is crystal clear that Jones has the tools in his locker to take the division by storm, something which would blow Aston Villa’s league rivals out of the water.
