Leeds United have been taking the Championship by storm since the appointment of manager Marcelo Bielsa, but it is safe to say that they have had their fair share of injury setbacks.

The likes of Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez were among the injury-hit list, but now they have returned, the Whites’ promotion bid is certainly up and running once again.

However, injuries to Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi have left a gaping hole in the right side of the defence, and there is no doubt that this is a position that Bielsa will have to prioritise in January.

One player he must look to is Swansea right-back Connor Roberts, who is in danger of leaving the Liberty Stadium according to the Sun.

The Championship ace has played every single minute of the Swans’ campaign so far and has arguably established himself as one of the best in his position with his displays.

Bielsa would be onto a blinder at Elland Road if Leeds were to swoop for a player who is probably in the best form he has been in – which makes it even more surprising why Swansea have not dished out a new contract yet.

Roberts is the type of player who can get forward efficiently from his right-back position, which is bound to go down well with a manager like Bielsa.

Roberts is likely to be a cheaper option to whoever else Leeds may be looking at in January, especially if Swansea do not offer him a new deal with his current one expiring in the summer.

Bielsa no doubt wants all of the reinforcements that he can get his hands on if his injury list starts to grow, and the capture of the ace would all but guarantee Leeds promotion to the top-flight at the end of the season.
