OPINION
Leeds fans don’t like Sky Sports much at the best of times. Leeds have more fixtures televised than any other club outside the power six in the Premier League and fans are constantly having to change plans to get to rearranged matches. Now the club is at war with them too. On Monday night the EFL approved a new five-year Sky Sports TV deal against the wishes of a large group of Championship clubs, including Leeds. In fact Leeds are one of the leaders of the rebel group, with owner Andrea Radrizzani having already called for a Premier League 2 breakaway league. The opposition to the new deal had come from the huge disparity of payments to clubs in the Premier League and the Championship. But, after saying they had taken on board the views of the Championship rebels, the EFL concluded the deal was in the best interests of its members. The Championship clubs are meeting at Villa Park on Tuesday to talk over their next step, which is likely to be a legal challenge to the new deal.
Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans to the news:
And the other thing in the best interests of the EFL is to keep @lufc in the Championship. Fraudsters

Daz (@hobsterlobster) summed up the feelings of many Leeds fans when he said the best way out of this mess is to ensure Leeds aren’t in the Championship next season.

Tex Arms (@V6Unbelievable) said that as the EFL represents its members, is there not scope for a vote of no confidence?
That is probably where the Championship clubs will be looking to attack next, although as there are 72 clubs in the football league, the Championship rebels don’t make up the majority.

Wayne (@wayneleedsfan) wants to see Andrea Radrizzani spend more money on the Leeds squad to make sure they get out of the Championship, while Dave Callaghan (@davecally9) made a good point, that it could be either Premier League 1 or 2 next season.

And other Leeds fans were quick to point out how unfair the deal is for Leeds in particular, who have far more games televised than any other club.

It's not the split so much as the lack of quotas. That some clubs can have such a huge percentage of their games moved and televised while so many others have none is clearly wrong and an abuse of power. Bad for those clubs and their fans alike. #lufc

Big risk to take. We didn’t have one friend when clubs voted to kick us down to league one with -15 points

Better time than ever for some investment in the squad come January!
