Pontus Jansson is the latest Leeds player to pick up an injury and fans are gutted.

He joins Gaetano Berardi, Luke Ayling, Tom Pearce, Patrick Bamford and Izzy Brown on the sidelines after withdrawing from Sweden’s squad for their internationals this week.

The news was confirmed on the official Swedish FA website.

There’s been no word about how serious the injury is from Leeds but fans are fearing the worst.

COMMENTARY
Football fans hate international breaks but this one might actually work more in Leeds’ favour, giving their enforcer two weeks to get back to fitness. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Pontus Jansson turned his ankle in the game against West Brom on Saturday and think this is the reason for him withdrawing from the Sweden squad. The worry now is that the injury will suddenly become something more serious. Kemar Roofe was only supposed to be carrying a knock  earlier in the season which then turned into weeks on the sidelines. They can’t afford to be without Jansson for that long, with Gaetano Berardi already out until February and no senior cover at centre-back. Fans were calling for a new centre-back in the summer and they’re calling louder for one now. We hope Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa listen this time. We think they need a new centre-back whether Jansson is out injured for a while or not. Why take a gamble on the squad between now and the season run-in?
