Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has issued a heartfelt and emotional post on Twitter after helping his side to victory in the Second City derby over Birmingham City on Sunday.
The Villans picked up not just an important three points over their Championship rivals, with both sides level in the table prior to kick off, but bragging rights in the midlands, picking up a 4-2 win in an entertaining clash in front of the Villa faithful.
Having netted against their fierce rivals, homegrown ace Grealish issued a heartfelt statement about how he had dreamed of this moment since he was a kid.
He took to his personal Twitter account to write: “The stuff i dreamed off when I was a kid… The city is ours.”

Opinion
There is no one in that Villa team who was as desperate to score against Birmingham City as Grealish. Any football fan would love to net against their fierce rivals in a dominant win and that is exactly what Grealish got to live out. He bleeds claret and blue and there is a reason he is such a popular figure at Villa Park. Really though there should be no competition between Birmingham and Villa considering where the clubs have come from in recent seasons. The Blues have been battling at the bottom of the table while the Villans were play off finalists last campaign and so to have been level on points before kick off would have actually been a little disappointing for Dean Smith and his side. They have managed get themselves three points ahead and the confidence will be brimming through the squad ahead of their next clash – none more so than Grealish.
