Celtic could do with an extra striker signed up in the January transfer window and it would be a masterstroke by Brendan Rodgers if he was able to re-sign Teemu Pukki from Norwich.

Pukki, 28, has been in the form of his life since he left Celtic Park in 2014.

Brondby snapped him up from the Hoops and during his time with the Danish giants he scored a stunning 72 goals in 164 appearances across all competitions, as well as winning the 2017/18 Danish Cup.

The Finland international left Brondby and joined Norwich on a free transfer in the summer, and has since shown that his goalscoring exploits were not just exclusive to Scandinavia.

He has scored eight goals in 15 appearances for the Canaries this season and he is a major reason as to why the East Anglia club currently tops the English Championship.

Celtic cannot ignore the form of their former striker – who they really should not have sold – and Rodgers has to get him back at the first opening.

As Norwich signed Pukki on a free in the summer they could be willing to cash in on the Finnish forward now instead of risking the possibility of his form dropping off later in the season.

Celtic need another striker to replace Moussa Dembele, who left in the summer, and the money made from offloading the Frenchman should be put towards getting in the Carrow Road goal machine.

Rodgers would leave the Celtic fans drooling if he was able to bolster his strike force with someone who has scored goals for fun in the last few years and it could be a major boost for the second-half of the season if Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard continue their sketchy form in front of goal.
