A number Brighton and Hove Albion fans were left raving on Twitter over the rare sighting of Florin Andone after he came off the bench in the club’s 2-1 defeat away at Cardiff on Saturday afternoon.
The Seagulls travelled to the second-to-last side in England’s top flight looking to seal victory in their last game before the international break and made the perfect start to proceedings with Lewis Dunk opening the scoring within six minutes.
However, the game flipped on its head in six first half minutes, with Callum Paterson netting an equaliser before Dale Stephens was shown a straight red card leaving the visitors with 10 men for the rest of the clash.
Fans were treated to just a second appearance for summer signing Florin Andone after the hour mark, having come off the bench against Everton last week, and despite defeat his rare sighting had the supporters in delight on Twitter.
COMMENTARY
The Seagulls faithful have had to wait to see what Andone has to bring to their side but after his second appearance for the club it certainly looks as though the fans have reason to get excited. He might not have had the match winning impact that some supporters were hoping for but he still managed to make himself a handful for the Cardiff defenders, and considering he was playing as a forward in a side with 10 men he did not let his isolation up top affect him too much. The fans’ reactions show just how highly they rate him, despite having seen very little of him thus far, and with him now starting to be handed first team minutes by Chris Hughton they should be able to make a proper verdict on their new man. The game might have ended in defeat but there is something to cheer about for the Brighton fans.

Have to say, really impressed with Andone. He should be starting every week from now on but suspect out insistence on 1 up front will negate that. Yes, I’m feeling very negative about us at the moment #bhafc @OfficialBHAFC @BBCSussexSport
