Darren Moore could axe Gareth Barry in two changes to his starting line-up ahead of West Brom’s clash against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Wednesday night.

Club captain Chris Brunt is likely to return to the side after his appearance off the bench in the 3-2 win at Preston on Saturday.

Joining 37-year-old senior player Barry in being dropped, Tyrone Mears could also make way from Moore’s starting line-up if Matt Phillips returns to full fitness after a spell on the sidlelines with an injury.

Sam Johnstone is likely to return in goals behind a familiar-looking back-three of Craig Dawson, Ahmed Hegazi and Kyle Bartley as West Brom aim to win their first clean sheet away on the road.

Kieran Gibbs could start as the left-sided wing-back, with Scotland international Phillips taking up the same role on the right flank if he is able to shake off his latest injury setback.

Jake Livermore was in superb form at Deepdale over the weekend and is pretty much nailed-on to partner Brunt in the centre of midfield.

Harvey Barnes has gone from strength to strength during his loan spell with the Baggies and is expected to remain in the No 1o position behind in-form strikers Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez.

West Brom went top of the Championship table with their win at Preston on Saturday and know that anything less than a win could see them drop down the table with Leeds, Middlesbrough and Sheffield United just a point behind.
