Aaron Tshibola has hinted that he could quit Aston Villa in a bid to settle down somewhere with his young family.

The 23-year-old was signed from Reading in July 2016, but he has since made just 10 appearances across all competitions for the West Midlands club and has been loaned out four different times.

After failed stints at Nottingham Forest and MK Dons, the DR Congo international is currently enjoying his second temporary spell at Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership and while he is happy with life at Rugby Park, he admits that he cannot keep on being loaned out every season.

“The situation is that I’m playing football and really enjoying it at the moment at Kilmarnock,” Tshibola told the Sun.

“I’ve got the rest of this season and the next season on my Villa contract and it would be ideal for me to prove that I deserve a place in the team.

“But if not, at my age, I want to play for somewhere and be settled and playing regularly, which would mean no more loan.

“I want to find a home and if that isn’t Villa then a home where I feel settled as I’ve got a young family and want to cement myself somewhere.”

OPINION

Tshibola was a ridiculous signing by Villa when they paid £5million to Reading to acquire his services. The midfielder had only made 17 senior appearances for the Royals before Roberto di Matteo decided to splash a stupid amount of cash on him. In his first half a season at Villa Park Tshibola failed to impress and was sent to Forest, where he also struggled for game-time. MK Dons cut his loan spell short the season after but Steve Clarke has really taken the DR Congo international under his wing and he is arguably in the form of his career this term. It would not be a shock to see him quit Villa next summer. He will be in the last year of his contract and his performances in Scotland will surely attract plenty of interest in him. Killie would undoubtedly love to sign the midfielder, but Villa would probably price them out of a move. Either way, don’t expect to see Tshibola in claret and blue again.
