Chris Sutton has hailed a “cracking game” after Celtic won 4-2 against Neil Lennon’s Hibernian at Parkhead on Saturday.

Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham put the Hoops two goals to the good before the break before an Odsonne Edouard brace in the second period ensured that Brendan Rodgers’ men picked up all three points and move up to second in the Scottish Premiership table.

Goals by Florian Kamberi and Martin Boyle did make it 2-1 and 3-2, but Celtic were always really in control and Sutton was full of praise in his instant verdict on the game on Twitter.

“Cracking game at Celtic Park as Celtic win 4-2,” he said via his personal Twitter account.

OPINION

Celtic have now scored 10 goals in their last two league games. What crisis? It was a dominant display by the Hoops but it was still a shame to see them concede two goals because it will just raise further questions about their defence. Mikael Lustig is someone who is will get a lot of criticism, especially after the second goal went in, so Rodgers really should think about his long-term options at right-back with Lustig and Cristian Gamboa both in the final year of their contracts. January will be huge for the Hoops. While there is no doubt that they will go on to win the Scottish Premiership despite Hearts’ early dominance, the squad is still in a position to be strengthen. The Moussa Dembele money has to be reinvested into the squad. A new right-back, defensive midfielder and striker will probably be the main priorities in the winter.
