Tottenham have been linked to Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombélé twice now in French newspaper L’Equipe and Tottenham fans would love Daniel Levy to spend the money required to land the 21-year-old.
The first report said that Levy was willing to table a £40million bid to land him over the summer but Lyon ended up signing the player on a permanent deal.
Following this, L’Equipe has reported that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has fallen under the spell of the player and wants to sign him.
Tottenham fans would love to see that happen and have flocked onto Twitter to make their voices heard.
OPINION
There’s a feeling that Tottenham could have got Ndombele over the summer if he’d been willing to up his offer from the £40million he was reportedly ready to hand over. However, with the midfielder on the verge of the senior France squad he could well be getting priced out of the reach of Mauricio Pochettino. Tottenham need a new centre midfielder and Ndombele would be the perfect replacement for Moussa Dembele. He’s very much a player in the same mould and Pochettino is said to be a huge fan. Dembele is coming to the end of his time with Tottenham and with Victor Wanyama far from his best and Moussa Sissoko not good enough, Levy will need to address this situation sooner rather than later. Some Tottenham fans don’t hold out much hope but another said that Ndombele is the “chosen one”. Time will tell if Levy feels the same way.
Here are the best reactions from Tottenham fans:
We need someone like this who can play as a “cdm” in our current formation
