The Rangers honeymoon period is over after a shock loss against Livingston on Sunday and Steven Gerrard will be looking for a reaction from his players on Thursday.

Austrian team Rapid Wien travel to Ibrox and will pose a serious threat to Rangers – they beat Spartak Moscow in their first group game.

It’s a game that Rangers will have to get something from if they want a realistic chance of progressing.

Gerrard is expected to make changes to the team that lost on Sunday, with the prevailing opinion being that the experiment of playing both Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty didn’t work.

In fact Gerrard said they could have played all day and not scored against the newly promoted side.

As a result Morelos is expected to lead the line on his own on Thursday, with Lafferty dropping to the bench.

Ryan Kent came on at half-time and we expect him to start on the left on Thursday, alongside Scott Arfield and Daniel Candeias.

It means Ovie Ejaria, who was criticised heavily in the second-half of the game against Livingston, dropping to the bench too.

Andy Halliday should come into the midfield alongside Lassana Coulibaly and Nikola Katic should resume his defensive duties alongside Connor Goldson.

Joe Worrall is the third player to be sacrificed after the Nottingham Forest loanee suffered a pretty tough Premiership debut.

This is the team we expect Gerrard to put out on Thursday:
