Rangers have done a deal with Canadian side Montreal Rangers that will see a sharing of talent and players coming over to Glasgow from north America.
Rangers are looking at the deal as a way of enhancing their standing in north America.
Talking in the Scottish Sun, Gary Gibson, Rangers Soccer Schools Manager, said: “We are delighted that we will be working with Montreal Rangers.
“Through this partnership we will assist them to grow over the coming years through camps events in Montreal while we work their players and staff and deliver sessions based on our game model within in our Academy.
“The next stage will be Montreal Rangers players coming across to experience an elite environment at Rangers.”

Being a successful football club these days is about much more than just how the first-team performs week-in, week-out. The game is global and it’s important to make inroads across the world, to forger partnerships and build support away from your home. The very best clubs do this and Rangers are spending time building up their presence in north America. This is another deal that will benefit both sides, with coaches from Glasgow moving across to Montreal to help improve their players, and eventually players moving across to Rangers to experience life in a huge club and hopefully move up a level themselves. It’s a win-win situation although it might not have much effect on Steven Gerrard’s first-team in the short-term. Things are going well there at the moment, too, with a feeling of optimism about the club for the first time in a long time. Gerrard has got the team playing and the fans in fine voice.
