Moyes would be interested in Rangers or Celtic job

|

David Moyes has admitted that he would like to manage either Rangers or Celtic in the future.

The former Everton and Man United manager, who played for Celtic as a defender, was talking with Si Ferry on Open Goal.

Ferry asked whether he would be interested in taking on either of the two roles and Moyes said, “Yes, I would be, aye”.

“I’ve been close once or twice and thought about it a lot.

“It’s my home and it’s where I come from and I’d like to come back and do it sometime, but, I’ve got to say, while the Premier League is so strong I think that would remain my interest.”

OPINION

Way to nail your colours to the mast David! Rangers and Celtic fans would probably prefer he picked either one of them – saying you’d quite like to manage either isn’t going to make anyone happy. It’s been a rapid descent for Moyes since he took the poisoned chalice of trying to follow-up Alex Ferguson at Man United. To be fair to him though, you can’t really stack United’s malaise up at his door. They’ve been woeful under every manager since Ferguson left. West Ham fans didn’t take to Moyes either though last season and although he says he wants to stay in the Premier League, it’s not easy to spot a club who would be willing to take a punt on him now. Could we see him managing in Scotland in the future? Definitely, but both Old Firm clubs seem very happy with who they have at the moment, with both Brendan Rodgers and Steven Gerrard fixed as firm fan favourites. That could all change very quickly though.
