Chris Sutton included three Celtic players in his team of the week after they beat Aberdeen 1-0 on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Craig Gordon, and defenders Dedryck Boyata and Kieran Tierney all made the cut, but there was no place for goal-scorer Scott Sinclair.

Livingston goal hero Addy Menga got the nod up front after scoring the winner against Rangers on Sundat.

It’s Rangers’ turn to sit out the Team of the Week, after a disastrous performance against Livingston yesterday. However, no Celtic attackers made the cut either and it shows how both Old Firm clubs are struggling for traction this season. Boyata has shown that he’s mature enough to get over his summer tantrum, and Sutton has recognised his work despite saying earlier that he should have been axed from the club completely. Gordon helped win the three points on Saturday with some impressive saves and Tierney put in his usual solid shift on the left. Neither of the Old Firm clubs have won away from home yet though and neither are in the top four of the league, which is crazy. Hearts kept up their fast start with a win against St Johnstone and they stay top, followed by Hibs, Livingston and Kilmarnock. It’s early days but the Premiership is confounding expectations so far. And that’s got to be a good thing for Scottish football.
