Some football fans on Twitter annihilate Celtic defender Jack Hendry for his latest performance for Scotland on Sunday evening.

The 23-year-old centre-back featured for Alex McLeish’s side during the 3-1 defeat to Portugal and had fans from a range of clubs panning his efforts during the match.

One fan tweeted that Hendry wouldn’t get a game in his back garden with his child, while another suggested that the defender take up modelling as he was currently stealing a living as a footballer.

OPINION

Hendry’s poor run of form continues as after struggling to impress at Celtic this season, he looked out-of-place when featuring for Scotland. The 23-year-old may have a lot of potential but it’s clear he is not worthy of regularly featuring for Brendan Rodgers’ side nor his nation at this side. While one fan is ready to write off the defender’s Celtic career already as they appear to be ready to slam Rodgers for recruiting him, he might still come good. The only problem is, that it doesn’t look like being anytime soon. In his 12 outings for Celtic this season, the defender’s positioning has been terrible and his judgements have regularly been wrong. Picking up experience will help him improve but you fear Celtic as well as Scotland want to rack up positive results now rather than waiting around for Hendry to become good. Hopefully this harsh criticism works in his favour and sees him get fired up in order to fulfil his raw potential.
