A section of Rangers fans on Twitter were blown away by Andy Halliday for a stellar performance in the 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

Even though Steven Gerrard’s side dropped points against Killie, Halliday impressed some fans as he played well in the midfield before putting in a good shift at left-back when Gerrard decided to make changes in the second-half.

Unfortunately he couldn’t help the Light Blues earn all three points, but there were supporters who hailed Halliday as their man of the match.

COMMENTARY:

Is Halliday the most under-rated player that Rangers have? Sure, he was rinsed last season for some terrible performances but under Gerrard’s leadership he has had plenty of solid outings and regularly impresses bunches of fans on Twitter when he plays. It helped his cause that Jon Flanagan had a stinker at left-back before he was hooked in the second-half, but Halliday looks a better bet in that position while Borna Barisic is injured. Some fans are really enjoying watching Halliday at times and Gerrard should really think about starting him in upcoming fixtures. Rangers have some games coming up in the Scottish Premiership that they have to win if they want to try and keep themselves in the title race. St Mirren, Motherwell and Livingston are all teams that the Gers should be cruising against and maybe Halliday could be their secret weapon for those games.
