Wolverhampton Wanderers have scheduled a meeting between their senior figures to finalise their top January targets as the club line up a raid for Liverpool’s Divock Origi, according to the Express and Star

The newspaper claim on their website that the newly promoted side are seeking addition firepower come the January window and after missing out on the 23-year-old Belgian international as a result of Liverpool’s £20million valuation in summer, are hoping to reignite a move for a cut price or loan.

Origi has not featured once for the Anfield outfit this season and it is said that the Reds could be open to letting him depart, with Wolves looking to bolster an attack featuring Raul Jimenez and Leo Bonatini, and that the top brass at Molineux will be meeting in the coming weeks to discuss transfers.

Good move for Wolves.

Absolutely, for the centre forward options is the only weakness currently letting Nuno Espirito Santo and the rest of his team down right now.

Jimenez has not performed on a consistent basis and passes up too many opportunities leading the line for Wolves, while Bonatini has failed to make the impact he needs to from the bench.

A new striker would be ideal for the club, and while Origi might be out of favour at Liverpool it does not make him a bad player.

His abilities are a little raw and he could do with some tutoring and development to help bring out the very best of his talents, but given the chance in the first team he could become a potent hitman in the Premier League.

Change is better than what Wolves have right now, and in Origi they would be getting someone desperate to prove themselves in any way possible.

Likely to happen?

Origi seems almost certain to leave the club in January and the only questions that need to be asked are whether it will be a loan move or a permanent sale, and who is going to lead the charge for his capture.

Wolves certainly sound keen but if Liverpool have not cut their asking price it is going to be a struggle for them to get a deal done, and a loan might be their only option.

If they want to get rid of him, then the Reds need to offer him up for a reasonable price, but it seems Jurgen Klopp is not sold on the idea of selling him right away.
