Rafa Mir desperate for another loan away from Wolves

|

Wolves striker Rafa Mir is desperate to secure another loan exit away from Molineux in 2019 as he dreams of facing former side Valencia in La Liga and proving them wrong for selling him, according to El Gol Digital.

The Spanish football news outlet claim that the 21-year-old, who was shipped out on a season long temporary switch to Las Palmas in his home country’s second division, is wanting to secure promotion with his loan side this season before being sent out again to clash against Valencia, who sold him to Wolves back in January.

The 6’3″ colossus (source: Transfermarkt) has helped his current side to fifth in the Segunda Division so far, and it is stated that Mir will ask Wolves not to stop him from rejoining the club if they seal promotion to the top flight.

Good move for Wolves?

Mir is some way off the first team at Molineux and may never make it in England, so keeping him happy with game time over in Spain is the best case scenario for the young talent.

His motivation to prove Valencia wrong signifies an admirable hunger in his belly but you can be certain that if Wolves were to offer him regular first team football in the Premier League next season, he would not be so keen to head back to Spain.

A half-decent record suggests that he has the talent to be a success at Molineux but it would require much learning and development to hit the heights for him to be among the starting XI, and as such perhaps another loan to Spain’s top flight would not be the worst thing in the world.

Likely to happen?

There are a lot of ifs and buts to this story, with the season having only kicked off a couple of months ago.

There is no telling whether Las Palmas will be fighting for promotion come May, and if they fail to seal a move to the top flight, will Mir still be seeking a move back, or is it La Liga which he really has his sights set on?

Right now, it is too difficult to say whether this is a realistic move, but at least the striker has made his feelings clear to his parent side should the opportunity come about in 2019.
