There is no doubting that Wolves have been the surprise package in the Premier League this season – and their form suggests that they will only go from strength to strength.

Teams who have been recently promoted to the top flight are often regarded as one of the favourites for the drop, but that is the complete opposite with this current Wolves team.

They have come into this season hitting the ground running, demonstrating to the rest of the division that they are not this year’s boo boys.

Grabbing points from both of the Manchester-based clubs is no easy feat, but Wolves went out showing that they were not afraid – and they were unlucky not to have got all three points in these fixtures.

Obviously the players have a big part in this success, but one man who should be receiving a lot of the credit is their boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Club legend Steve Bull said in his column for the Express and Star that Nuno is a “tactical genius” and it is “all thanks” to him that the club have progressed in the way that they have over the last two years.

Bull is right on the money here – Wolves would definitely not be where they are now if the Spaniard was not in charge.

Yes, the Premier League is all relatively new to him as a manager – but he has conducted himself in a way that could indicate that he knows the league inside out.

No one expected them to pick up a 1-1 draw with Manchester City, but they did – and that is all down to the consistency that the boss has implemented on the team.

Each side he has picked this season has been unchanged, and look where that has got them now.

The club has most certainly progressed in the last few years, and there is no doubt that they will improve even further with a manager like Nuno as the anchor to their success.
