A section of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of attacker Felipe Anderson in the defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.
The Hammers were subjected to their second consecutive loss in the Premier League thanks to a goal from Erik Lamela just before the half-time whistle.
Anderson, 25, was substituted in the 57th minute for striker Javier Hernandez, and supporters were not pleased in the slighest with his display, with some comments including “complete waste of money” and “shocker”.

Anderson poor, Diop class and Fabianski has kept us in it. Having said that I think the game has been pretty even. Can still get back into this, don't deserve to be losing in my opinion. #coyi #whufc #WHUTOT

I know players need time to settle but never have I seen a worse start to a West Ham career as Felipe Anderson, let alone the fact we payed £40 million for him ?????

Body Language, effort, absolutely pathetic, can somebody give Anderson a history lesson on West Ham Spurs please! 42 million quid can’t even put a shift inn ? https://t.co/xBTDHDE53I

Anderson had a stinker. Likes to play and give the impression that it’s easy for him. Useless today.

OPINION
Wow, these West Ham fans certainly did not like Anderson’s display today. No wonder they are frustrated though – he should be their standout player seeming as he cost the club a record £40 million, but he has not lived up to that price tag in the slightest. This is the poorest display that he has put out so far, which is a shame, because he was starting to get his rhythm. Obviously the pressure of being West Ham’s record buy has got to him, and it will not be long before fans start calling for his head if this keeps on going on. One fan even pointed out that he has not seen a player have a worse start for the club than Anderson – and that is really saying something considering the money that he cost. He needs to improve, or his place in the side is going to be seriously compromised.
