Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has stepped up his recovery efforts after his injury layoff as he looks to make a return to action over the next couple of weeks, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that the English maestro, who is missing from his country’s international games as a result of his hamstring blow, is working harder behind the scenes as he tries to make his way back into the first team setup after two weeks out of action.

The current break means that the first opportunity he will have to return will be the visit to West Ham on the 20th October.

Opinion

Spurs have really missed the likes of Alli and fellow attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen in their absences, lacking the creative spark and flair up front that they bring to the side. Having one, or even both, back in action sooner rather than later is only going to boost their chances of success, and with a Hammers side who have looked suspect at times this season up next for Mauricio Pochettino and his men, they would love to have either of their stars available for selection as they look to continue their push back up the Premier League table. Of course, there can be no rushing an injury recovery, but it is good to know there is a hope Alli will be back and featuring for the club before the end of the month. Who drops out for him, if he is to be thrown straight back into the starting XI, remains to be seen, and that will be a tough decision for Pochettino to make.
