Tottenham Hotspur have announced that first-team star Dele Alli has signed a new contract until 2024, and many fans have taken to Twitter to react with joy to the news.
As reported on the club’s official website, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder has committed his long-term future to the club after joining from MK Dons in 2015.

These fans are obviously ecstatic with the news that Alli has signed a new long-term deal at Tottenham, and it is not hard to understand why. Alli has transformed from a talented youngster into one of the Premier League’s most prolific midfielders, and become an international star for England in the process. His rapid development into one of the club’s best players has obviously attracted the attention of some of the continent’s biggest clubs over the past two years, and him signing a new deal is evidence that he is still happy at Spurs. What the club now need to do is back up contracts like this with new signings to help players like Alli and Harry Kane – who has also signed until 2024 – win some silverware. The upcoming January window is set to be crucial for Tottenham’s season, with the club already looking out of the Champions League and facing an uphill battle in the Premier League after their loss to Manchester City on Monday.
