Tottenham Hotspur have revealed that midfielder Eric Dier will miss their Carabao Cup clash on Wednesday evening with a thigh injury, and many fans have taken to Twitter to react.
The club confirmed on their official Twitter account that the 24-year-old enforcer had sustained a thigh strain in their 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Monday, an injury which will put him out of contention tonight.
Tottenham fans have been reacting to the announcement on Twitter, with many expressing their annoyance at the continued injury problems being experienced by the squad.

Losing Dier to injury for the clash against West Ham is a blow for manager Mauricio Pochettino, and these fans do not seem too happy about the news. Tottenham have been struck down by a lengthy series of injuries to key first-team players so far this season, and Dier is simply the latest in that long list. As pointed out by many of these fans, the players who have been injured are mostly those who went away for the World Cup. While that can only be an excuse for so long, it is seemingly an issue which continues to plague this Tottenham squad, which had many players go far into the competition. All they can do now is hope that Dier’s injury is not a serious one, and that he will be back in contention to face Wolves on Saturday. The 24-year-old would likely have started against the Hammers, but Pochettino still has enough firepower at his disposal to replace him and turn out a strong enough team to progress.
