Manchester City secured a valuable 1-0 win over top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Monday, but many fans have taken to Twitter to savage the display of right-back Kyle Walker.
An early tap-in for Riyad Mahrez was enough to settle the match, with Tottenham blowing several good chances to equalise on a horrifically damaged pitch at the national stadium.
Walker was playing against his former club where he spent seven years of his career but the right-sided flyer put in a poor display, with many City fans criticising him after the match.

COMMENTARY
These Manchester City fans seem wholly unimpressed by Walker’s performance against Tottenham on Monday, and so they should be. The speedy right-back was so far from the top of his game it was almost painful to watch, with Walker struggling to make any sort of impact on the clash. His trademark bursting runs down the wing were nowhere to be seen, and the few occasions when they did happen, the right-back totally fluffed his lines. His defensive performance left a lot to be desired as well, with Tottenham having a lot of joy down his flank through the tricky Lucas Moura, who gave Walker a run for his money all night. City fans will be hoping this is a one-off display from Walker, who has been mightily impressive on the whole since his £50million move from Spurs in 2017. The 28-year-old was a key cog in their title-winning side last season, and will no doubt be important for Pep Guardiola across the whole of this term as well.
Thank God that over with. I thought we was very poor tonight. Mendy and walker were shocking. Other than 1 error Laporte was immense alongside Stones. My MOTM was Ferna pure class be hard to replace him. Anyway we won the game thanks to a great goal by mahrez #mcfc

Seeing as Mendy and Walker we’re playing for Spurs that’s a very decent result #MCFC

Not pretty (just like the pitch), but City got the job done. Poor showing from Walker and Mendy today. Aguero and Silva could've been a bit sharper. Sterling and Mahrez looked good. 3 pts nonetheless, onwards and upwards. #TOTMCI #ManCity #MCFC

Reckon Kyle Walker, Ben Mendy and Raheem Sterling were all out on the piss together at the weekend #MCFC

Walker needs to have a word with himself. A very immature performance. #mcfc

Walker and Mendy putting on a bit of a horror show in time for Halloween ? but the game management from the teams was top quality tonight. Never really looked under too much pressure! #MCFC
