Mauricio Pochettino is set to unleash exciting Tottenham centre-back Juan Foyth in the Carabao Cup game against West Ham on Wednesday night, according to a reliable journalist.

Jack Pitt-Brook claims that Foyth, along with Fernando Llorente, Victor Wanyama and Serge Aurier are all set to play in the game at the London Stadium tonight.

The report also says that Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are likely to start the game after making cameos in the 1-0 loss to Man City on Monday.

OPINION

Pochettino is in a fortunate position for tonight’s game despite his side having played only 48 hours earlier at Wembley. After that game he said that he would have to “use players that normally are not involved in the last few games”. That would hint at putting out a weakened team, but when that includes Eriksen and Alli, West Ham can consider themselves rather unlucky. Pochettino might decide not to risk Alli. He wouldn’t want to lose him again for a period in the Premier League, but if he thinks he’s 100% then playing 45 minutes could well help his recovery. The inclusion of Juan Foyth will be the exciting one for Tottenham fans though. The 20-year-old centre-back hasn’t featured much since his £12million move from Estudiantes and hasn’t played at all this season, thanks to injury. The exciting youngster has received his first call-up to the senior Argentina team though and Spurs fans will be eager to see what a player who they think will be a fixture of their defence for years to come.
