Newcastle United are continuing to scout Galatasaray forward Garry Rodrigues after failing to sign the 27-year-old in the summer window, according to Turkish Football

The Turkish outlet claim that the Magpies have not given up hope of signing the Cape Verde international despite seeing a bid rejected by the Champions League club.

Turkish Football report that Galatasaray would be willing to sell Rodrigues to the Magpies, but only for the right price, with the club demanding £13.2million in the summer.

Good move for Newcastle United?

Yes.

Rodrigues has been a regular for Galatasaray over the past season or so, and has underlined his importance to the team by scoring and registering assists on a regular basis.

Three goals in nine games from wide areas so far this season illustrate his continued impact for the Istanbul club, and Newcastle could do with a player like that in January.

If the demands remain the same in January then £13.2million does look like a reasonable price for the 27-year-old as well, and this therefore looks to be a good move.

Likely to happen?

While Rodrigues does look to be a good player available for a decent price, that does not mean anything with Mike Ashley around.

The Newcastle owner is notoriously tight with his transfer budgets, and the likelihood of him sanctioning a deal worth more than £10million in January is unlikely.

Tis is not to rule such a move out, but merely to temper expectations.
