A section of fans took to Twitter to slaughter Romelu Lukaku for his performance in Manchester United’s 2-2 draw against Chelsea on Saturday.
Jose Mourinho’s side came from behind to score twice and put themselves on the verge of a memorable win at Stamford Bridge courtesy of a second-half double from Anthony Martial, but a late Ross Barkley equaliser meant the spoils were shared.
Lukaku played the full 90 minutes of the Premier League clash but many supporters were highly critical of his performance.

COMMENTARY:
United were unable to secure the win that would have eased the pressure on Mourinho as well as a squad that has been pilloried for its performances this season. A dramatic ending, in which Barkley drilled in a last-second equaliser to nearly lead to a punch-up involving Mourinho and a member of the Chelsea staff in the dugout, meant the visitors shared the spoils. It was a far more aggressive second-half display from the Portugese’s side, although far from a vintage one. Lukaku has been questioned of late for some cumbersome displays and this was another fairly average one from the giant forward. He could not provide the hold-up play needed for United to consistently threaten the Chelsea goal and did not look like he would add to his four goals this season. It was a fourth consecutive blank for the Belgian, who is looking far less effective in the red shirt of his club than the red one of his country.
