Everton striker Sandro Ramirez has admitted that he could look to make his loan to Real Sociedad a permanent deal at the end of the season.

The former Barcelona striker arrived at Goodison Park for £5million in the summer of 2017 but never really settled in Liverpool and was first loaned out to Sevilla in January before a season-long move to the Basque country in August.

Injury has limited his involvement so far for Sociedad but the 5ft 9in Ramirez [Transfermarkt] has now revealed that he is enjoying life in northern Spain and may look to make it a permanent move next summer.

Speaking to El Desmarque, he said: “In principle it’s just a loan, but in the end, in football, you do not know what can happen. I’ve given everything since the first minute I’ve arrived here and I’ll do it until the end here and show my best version. Let’s let things flow and see how everything evolves.

“In football you never know what can happen. Real is a great club, an important club in Spain. If everything goes well, why not? We’ll see what will happen.”

OPINION

It is hardly surprising to hear that Sandro may look to force a permanent exit from Everton at the end of the season. His £5million move from Malaga simply has not worked out at all, and an exit would likely be the best resolution for all parties. The reasons behind his time in Liverpool not working out are not really clear, with Sandro not settling in England or looking able to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League. The 23-year-old is obviously a talented player, having come through the Barcelona academy and played 32 games for the first-team, but maybe he is simply not cut out for English football. His time back in Spain with Real Sociedad has not been a massive success so far either despite his obvious happiness with the move, with Sandro playing just four games for the club so far this term. Injury has admittedly hindered his progress, but he will need to step up his game if he really wants to earn that permanent move to the Basque country in the summer.
