Portugal international Andre Gomes made his debut for Everton in their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, and many Toffees fans have taken to Twitter to drool over his display.
Late goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun gave Everton a valuable win against the Eagles, who had missed an earlier penalty following Seamus Coleman’s challenge on Wilfried Zaha.
Gomes was a surprise inclusion in the starting team after recovering from an ankle injury which has kept him out of action since the summer, and Everton fans were very pleased with his performance.

Andre Gomes absolutely superb today. Been out injured for a long time, first game in the PL and he ran the show. A proper playmaker who dictates play!

Thoughts from #EVECRY :
1. Digne is proving his worth and continues to be bags of energy down the left
2. Andre Gomes needs a permanent signing. Class
3. Pickford
4. DCL is all passion. Thumps the badge after every goal

OPINION
These Everton fans seem suitably impressed by Gomes’ debut against Crystal Palace, and it is easy to see why. The Barcelona loanee looked right at home in midfield alongside Idrissa Gueye, which was particularly impressive when you consider how long he has been out for with injury, and also that he has never played Premier League football before. The Portugal international has had a tough time of things since his move from Valencia to the Nou Camp, with a lack of game time seeing him drop out of international contention recently. A summer move was always expected, and Everton did well to snap him up amid interest from other Premier League rivals. If his debut is anything to go by then Gomes could well go on to big things with the Toffees, who will no doubt be keen on making his loan a permanent deal if this form continues. It is still early days but the early signs are good.
