Stan Collymore has predicted that Everton will come out on top when his former club Crystal Palace visit Goodison Park on Sunday.

The Toffees are coming in after a 2-1 win over Leicester City before the international break, while opponents Palace are without a Premier League win since mid-September.

Collymore has now predicted on his personal Twitter account that the home side will secure a comfortable 2-0 win over the Eagles when the two sides meet on Merseyside on Sunday.

OPINION

This is a safe prediction from Collymore, and one that most people will likely agree with. Everton have had a mixed start to the season under new boss Marco Silva but their improvement over the eight games so far has been clear to see. They did well to see off Leicester in their final game before the international break, and will hopefully still carry that momentum into Sunday’s clash after the two-week Premier League hiatus. The key for them will be how their midfield steps up if Idrissa Gueye fails to recover from the injury he sustained on international duty, with Morgan Schneiderlin likely to deputise. While they will likely focus on Palace star Wilfried Zaha, the Eagles are a team who can hurt you across the front line. They have a lot of pace and are dangerous on the counter, something which the Toffees will have to be aware of.
