West Ham must take notice of their exciting gem Marcus Browne after his latest scintillating display for Oxford United during their clash with Plymouth Argyle.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is currently away from the Hammers on loan with the League One outfit and is proving himself to be a very promising prospect.

Browne may have only play 68 minutes for Oxford during their 2-0 win over Plymouth on Saturday but ahead of going off the pitch, he was the one driving his side forward.

The 20-year-old was skilfully demonstrating his bags of tricks which not only entertained the crowd but created opportunities for himself and his teammates to have a shot at goal.

Browne may not have got a goal or an assist but he was still head and shoulders above a lot of the players on the pitch as he pulled off back-heels, when close to scoring on several occasions and proved too much for his opponents to handle.

The exciting gem’s latest performance was only made more impressive when you consider that he is coming back from an injury.

Saturday’s game against Plymouth was Browne’s first start since September 9th as he has been kept out of action recently with a knee injury.

Although ahead of that set-back in his seven league appearances, Browne was looking in tip-top form.

Given that Browne appears to be excelling in League One with ease, the Hammers must take note of his latest scintillating display as they may have to raise their expectations for him.

It seems the 20-year-old may eventually, perhaps next season,  benefit from a taste of senior football at the London Stadium or a loan spell in the much tougher Championship division in order to ensure he is being tested.

As it’s clear that Browne is one to watch for the Hammers and they have to ensure he fulfils all his potential.
