A section of fans have taken to Twitter to drool over Arsenal rookie Reiss Nelson’s wonder goal for England Under-21s in their 7-0 demolition of Andorra on Thursday evening.

The 18-year-old Gunner, who is on a season-long loan at Hoffenheim, came off the bench with 18 minutes remaining and produced some outstanding skill before finishing the sixth goal for the Three Lions youngsters as they secured qualification for next year’s European Championship.

Many supporters of different clubs were in awe at the potential of Nelson, with comments including “amazing”, “brilliant” and “remember the name”.

COMMENTARY:

Nelson’s goal was so audacious and well taken that it was not such Arsenal fans going into social media meltdown. There were plenty of supporters of other clubs also gasping at the quality of the play from the super-sub as the England Under-21s put minnows Andorra to the sword. While some were pointing out the lack of quality in the visiting team’s defence, which was fair enough, there can be no denying the excitement generated by the performance of Nelson and his teammates. The teenage Gunner made a surprise loan move to the Bundesliga in the summer and he has already scored two goals from just three appearances for the club, both of which have come in the league. Nelson will be hoping that he has done enough to be granted his second start for his club as he looks to make a huge impact in Germany and return to England ready to challenge for a regular role at his parent club.
