Opinion

The Arsenal fans of a certain age will no doubt have some fine memories of a partnership with Adidas, not least thanks to the ‘bruised banana’ away kit which has gone down as a cult classic not only in north London but across the footballing world. Adidas are big players in the footballing world, much more so than Puma, and the Gunners will be hoping that this sort of deal can help lift them back into the upper echelons of both Premier League and European football after a couple of years on the sidelines. The fans seem pretty happy to see the back of Puma after some questionable kit designs and while it is only a minor part of the bigger picture, it is good to have the supporters on side when making a big decision. It might not change the game, but it does put Arsenal a step in the right direction when it comes to reigniting their charge for a top four spot over the next couple of years.
