Arsenal are lining up moves for two of Europe’s most-exciting young players as Sven Mislintat lays down his plans for the future, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper report that the Gunners are targeting Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr and Bayer Leverkusen teen sensation Kai Havertz as they look to build a side capable of getting back in to contention for the Premier League.

The Mirror claim that Rennes are planning on cashing in on Senegal international Sarr in the next year, while midfielder Havertz has already made 50 appearances for Leverkusen at just 19 years old.

Good move for Arsenal?

Absolutely.

Both Sarr and Havertz are supremely talented young players who would bring this Arsenal squad one step closer to getting back in the Champions League and in contention domestically again.

Sarr is a jet-heeled winger with an eye for goal, with the 20-year-old having scored three times already this season including a Europa League goal of the season contender for Rennes.

Havertz has actually outdone Sarr on the goal front so far, scoring four this season, with the one-cap Germany international playmaker on fire for Leverkusen.

Likely to happen?

The Gunners may well seal one of these deals at some point soon, but the competition for both will be extremely high.

One advantage is that they seem to be readying their bids early, which will put them ahead of their rivals.

However, the likelihood of them signing both players is unfortunately low, with these being two of Europe’s most-coveted youngsters.
