Tottenham coach Jesus Perez managed to pull off a surprise turnaround in the eyes of manager Mauricio Pochettino to go from someone he was wary of to his most trusted right hand man, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper claim in an analysis of how the senior Tottenham man came to become Pochettino’s top ally that their initial partnership at Espanyol was fraught with distrust after Perez was brought in as under-21 coach by a sporting director that the current Spurs boss was also unsure of.
However, it is stated that Perez, who is Spurs’ head of fitness, has staged a very surprise turnaround and gained so much trust by his manager that he is now on par with his wife when it comes to loyalty, and that it was the pair of him and her who convinced Pochettino to make the move to England with Southampton.

Perez is incredibly important to Tottenham with his methods when it comes to the club’s fitness, and the Spurs faithful will be so grateful that Mauricio Pochettino has built up such a friendship and loyalty with him. There is a real camaraderie between not only the senior pair but the entire backroom staff at Tottenham and it is that sort of trust that Pochettino can place in every single one of his team members which translates to success behind the scenes, including on the training ground, and therefore success when it comes to match day. However, a couple of the Lilywhite faithful might want to have a word with Perez and question him as to why there have been so many injuries as of late, and if his approach to the players’ fitness is causing them. Still, there is very little to complain about at Spurs right now and Perez is evidently a key part of that.
