Jose Mourinho slammed Chelsea ace Jorginho after Manchester United drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Jorginho, 26, was arguably one of the more influential players in blue as an explosive end to the game saw Ross Barkley earn a last-gasp equaliser and Mourinho get involved in a scuffle with the Chelsea bench.

After the game, Mourinho told Sky Sports that he was unimpressed with Jorginho’s performance and claims that his United side managed to control the game.

“I never saw Jorginho play so weak like he did today, we were completely in control,” he said on Sky Sports Premier League after full-time on Saturday.

OPINION

What game was Mourinho watching? Jorginho was very impressive for Chelsea and Man United just seemed to have taken their chances rather than control the game. It was an awful first-half by the men in red but after they break they were much improved, but hardly the better team overall. Jorginho made 88 passes throughout the 90 minutes – more than any Man United player on the pitch. How can Mourinho claim that he was kept quiet when that stat is so apparent? Jorginho wasn’t Chelsea’s best passer on the day though with N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic completing more passes than him, but still, the ex-Napoli playmaker was dominant in the midfield over United’s players. Mourinho has a knack for saying daft stuff in his post-game interviews, this is one of his most bizarre and unsubstantiated though. It will be interesting if the FA have anything to say about the scenes on the bench when Barkley equalised.
