A section of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to slam Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for his performance in France’s 2-1 win against Germany on Tuesday night.
Lloris, 31, conceded an early penalty to Toni Kroos but still managed to make a number of decent saves for the World Cup champions.
However for some reason, some Liverpool fans still decided to blast the Spurs shot-stopper after he failed to keep out Kroos’ spot-kick.

Hugo Lloris is a walking error factory. Mediocre keeper.

What a weak pen by Kroos, but it was really close to the post, so Lloris didn't save it

OPINION
Are these Liverpool fans seriously saying that Lloris should be expected to save a penalty? Before Kroos takes his spot-kick, Lloris has to guess the right way and be quick enough to get his body into the right position to make the save. It was not the best of penalties but goalkeepers cannot be blamed for conceding them unless it is something truly out of the ordinary, the blame should lie with the player who has given the penalty away for his poor defending. Lloris made plenty of other good saves for France on Tuesday night, but obviously the Liverpool fans – who seem to be trying to fashion a rivalry with Spurs for whatever reason – won’t offer him any praise for that. Some Spurs fans may admit that Lloris is not the best of goalkeepers in the Premier League but he is still a great club captain and has proved over the years that he can win more points that he loses.
