Leeds haven’t had a penalty for just over a year now and fans were in uproar when they heard the news.

It’s given Leeds fans even more reason to be angry, after many were up in arms about the refereeing in the last Championship game against Brentford.
Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans:

If it was just penalties it would be ok but the decisions we get from dire referees at Elland Road are laughable!

To be fair, it would be impossible to have received less than zero.? Have any other teams received the same in that time? Mind you, some of the refs have been so poor and dodgy, they prob wish they could give a pen against Leeds simply because they appealed for one.

OPINION
One team has to be bottom of the league when it comes to getting penalties, but a whole year without one is going some. That means it’s been 50 games since Leeds last got a penalty and it’s given them another reason to think the officials are against them. Brentford star Sergi Canos escaped charges when he seemingly swung a head at Ezgjan Alioski in the Brentford game, while enforcer Pontus Jansson has been charged for swearing in a post-match interview and accusing the referee of “robbery”. Add all of these together and you’ve got a set of fans who are angry about their treatment. This could become problematic, with referees not wanting to be seen to award any soft penalties to Leeds on the back of this long barren run. Leeds play Blackburn next in the early Saturday kick-off in the Championship and will be on the lookout for any perceived bias from the referee, who will have a tough job on his hands. Three points could take them back to the top of the league, despite not being awarded a single penalty in a year.
