A number of Everton supporters have turned to social media to slaughter the performance of first team ever present Theo Walcott after his performance in the clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.
The Toffees welcomed the Eagles to Goodison Park in the first game after the international break but fans saw a first half lacking in clear cut chances.
The second half did present an opportunity for the visitors to snatch a goal but Luka Milivojevic saw his penalty saved by the feet of Jordan Pickford, minutes before Walcott saw an effort saved in similar fashion from open play.
However, late goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun, which came minutes apart from each other, secured a 2-0 victory for the Toffees.
Fans were not impressed with what they saw from English international Walcott, who has started every one of the club’s league games this season, and took to Twitter to slam his performance as a whole.
This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:
Get lookman on, I don’t think Walcott has touched the ball! #EFC

We should bring Walcott on this half

Walcott doesn't seem interested?

Walcott is woefully out of form, and looks little threat on the right. If he's to stay on the pitch, I'd swap positions with Richarlison, and see if the 3 forwards can get Walcott in behind #efc

Opinion
Everton fans have every right be left disappointed with what they saw from Walcott on Sunday – not that there was a lot to see. He was a complete bystander against Palace and when he did find himself in the game he did nothing to endear himself to the frustrated supporters. He might have been someone who has been trusted by Marco Silva this season but he cannot rest on his laurels, for performances like this are only going to lead to one thing – the axe from the starting line up. It is not like there are no other options for the manager to choose, with the likes of Ademola Lookman and Cenk Tosun waiting on the sidelines right now, and Walcott will have to continue to impress in training if he wants to keep his place, for his on pitch displays are bringing nothing to the Everton side right now.
