While Leeds United might be flying high in the Championship, there is no doubt that manager Marcelo Bielsa will be wanting to bring in some fresh talent to bolster his side and boost their chances of securing a place in the Premier League next season.

With Leeds in action most Saturdays and in midweek thanks to the hectic schedule the second tier fixture list throws up, it is not often that the Argentine boss gets to watch anyone other than the opposition – which is why he seems to have made the most of his weekend off thanks to the international break.

He was pictured taking in Barnsley’s League One clash with Luton Town on Sky Sports, and while there was no explanation as to his visit to Oakwell, a transfer hunt cannot be ruled out of the question.

So who should Leeds be looking at?

One man who could provide much of what the Whites need in their arsenal moving forward is Luton’s Dan Potts, the 24-year-old a versatile full back who can fill into the centre when needed – somewhere Leeds could do with strengthening in depth – but also provides an attacking flair, having scored seven goals in League Two last season.

The 5’8″ (source: Transfermarkt) flyer, whose pace makes him a dangerous asset, might be better versed in the lower leagues of English football but he does possess Premier League and Championship under his belt, with two top flight and three second tier outings with West Ham.

HITC reported over the summer that Championship rivals Nottingham Forest were hunting his capture but he remained with Luton – with his reputation still intact after the early stages of the new season.

Leeds did sign a left back in the shape of Barry Douglas in the summer, while Tom Pearce is waiting in the wings as backup, but it would not hurt Leeds to have backup, and considering the League One star is likely to be available for a bargain price in comparison to other options out there, it could prove to be a great move for the club.
