OPINION
You can understand the delight of these Aston Villa fans on Twitter because what they have had to witness over the last two years was hardly entertainment. Bruce’s tactics, team selections and substitutions were simply bizarre and even though this season is still young, he never looked as though he was going to be able to get the club back into the Premier League. There was a culmination of all of those issues in the 3-3 draw with Preston on Tuesday night and that was obviously the last straw for the club’s chiefs. Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens now have their first big test as Villa owners because they have to get this appointment right. Financial Fair Play rules can batter the club if they are not careful so they need to win promotion to the Premier League this season. Bruce obviously wasn’t going to do that, but who is?
