Wolves transfer supremo Kevin Thelwell must make another concerted bid to land Man City star Oleksandr Zinchenko in the January transfer window.

Sky Sports had reported that Wolves and Man City had agreed a £16million fee for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder over the summer, only for Zinchenko to snub the move at the last minute.

He wanted to stay and try and force his way into the Man City side, but guess what? That hasn’t been at all successful, with the youngster playing just once in the Premier League.

And worse was to come for the exciting midfielder.

He was reported to have bought 27 tickets for friends and family to watch the Champions League game against his former side Shakhtar Donetsk, but was dropped from the matchday squad.

Fans took to social media to make fun of him after the news emerged and it could mean that Zinchenko is much more open to a January move – either on loan or on a permanent deal.

He might also have been swayed by Wolves’ early season form. They look like the real deal in the Premier League and are currently sitting in ninth, just six points behind Tottenham in fifth.

However, Wolves need more attacking options with some of the players that starred in the Championship failing to reach the heights in the Premier League.

Zinchenko offers that and more, and January could be the perfect time to push the deal through.

Man City would turn a big profit on the player they signed for £1.8million, Zinchenko will finally get to play Premier League football and Wolves can start pushing for the European places.
