A section of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to hail Victor Orta after the team’s excellent start to the season continued with Tuesday’s convincing triumph.
A United team weakened by injury to key quartet Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe, Patrick Bamford and Gaetano Berardi swept Preston North End aside to secure a 3-0 win that should have been even more emphatic.
Many United supporters are now coming to the conclusion that recruitment chief Orta deserves a share of the credit for the side’s success.
This Is Futbol has rounded up some of the best tweets below.
COMMENTARY:
To say Orta has been made a scapegoat at Leeds over the 16 months of Andrea Radrizzani’s reign is something of an understatement. The Spaniard, who joined from Middlesbrough within days of the Italian businessman taking sole control, has been roundly castigated by a vast section of the fanbase, predominantly for the club’s player trading but also for the appointments of Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom as managers. However, the enormous impact made by Marcelo Bielsa, the man who Radrizzani has made clear was championed by Orta when no-one thought Leeds had an earthly of hiring such a notable coach, has swayed by supporters and persuaded them to change their mind. Suddenly, signings previously damned as flops are looking the real deal, while long-term contracts handed to senior players who slept-walked through the second half of last season are looking shrewd business moves. Orta is winning the masses over.
I know Bielsa is a genius but it seems those berating Orta have become very quiet his signings look significantly better under a real coach #LUFC

These are probably the same "supporters" who wrote off Roberts after Saturday. The same ones who have tweeted abuse at Phillips and Cooper for 2 years. The same ones who booed Chris Wood.

Credit where it's due. @andrearadri believed in Orta when we all called for his head. The sheer audacity for a championship club to go for Bielsa nevermind convince him is paying dividends at the moment. If he wants a player in Jan we have to get them
